I've come to realize that a lot of my time in a day is spent waiting:
Waiting for my boyfriend
Waiting for the bus
Waiting in traffic
Waiting for class to be over
Waiting for that prospective employer to call me back
As much as I'd LOVE to be proactive during these times, and of course if I were, this would be a much more motivating post, but I'm not.
We're talking 'petty' minutes here, nothing big, but when you add up all the minutes you spend doing nothing because you're waiting, it does add up.
Here's a challenge the next time you're waiting for something to happen:
Look around. Look at the people around you and let your mind drift to the people you know. This isn't brain surgery given waiting is a boring game and people watching is quite a bit more interesting. Sometimes I feel like I'm so wrapped up in my own world that even in the moments when I have absolutely nothing else but to wait for the next thing to happen, I'm still closed off from the rest of the world.
